Eternity Coffee Roasters Officially Named Krups "Best Brew" by Popular Vote
The heated battle for Miami's Best Brew may have gone cold, but the buzz is back after a surprising announcement on Krups' Facebook page.
The bean counters at Krups announced the winner this week as downtown's Eternity Coffee Roasters.
Tinta y Café and Eternity were neck-and-neck in the battle for the caffeinated crown as the voting ground down to the final moments almost two weeks ago. We mistakenly reported then that Tinta y Café won by one vote, but we did not take into account write-in ballots that were submitted to Krups.
"We are pleased with all the support and loyalty that our 'Java Junkies' have for Eternity Coffee Roasters. We had votes coming as far away as Mozambique to support us," says Eternity Coffee Roasters' owner Christopher Johnson.
"Our coffee isn't just served in our espresso bar. People drink our coffee at home in their kitchens and share with their family and friends. We are really a part of our customers' lives."
The confusion occurred as votes for each coffeehouse were visible on Krups' Facebook page after voting ending. It seemed Tinta y Café had won by one vote. When Krups announced on its Facebook page that the winner was Eternity Coffee Roasters, a user commented that there had been an error.
Krups replied, "The write-in votes brought Eternity Coffee Roasters slightly over the competition to the top slot in Miami." Krups removed the vote tally from the page this week but did not update it with the final scores.
