The art-deco-inspired shop is the company's 19th Florida store. Another Whole Foods, located in downtown Miami, is in the works.
Whole Foods is celebrating the opening with several parties and events. Monday, April 29, Whole Foods is offering a sneak-preview tour for people who simply have to be the first kid on the block to experience the location's panini bar, cheese-cutter's corner, smoothie and juice bar, Allegro coffee bar, and European-style bakery.

The tours are conducted every 15 minutes and are free and open to the public, but space is limited and pre-registration is required, beginning April 10 by visiting northmiami.wholefoodsrsvp.com. A suggested donation of $5 per guest will benefit the Embrace Girls Foundation, which provides programs and guidance for girls ages 4 to 12.
On opening day, Whole Foods will offer a free continental breakfast from 8 to 9 a.m. in the parking lot, with the first 500 shoppers receiving Whole Foods goodie bags.
As part of the company's committment to the community, 5 percent of net sales from opening day will be donated to the Museum of Contemporary Art.
The North Miami Whole Foods is unique in that much of its seafood will be sourced from local fisheries and day-boat fishermen, including Gary's Seafood (Madeira Beach), Cox Seafood (Tampa), Keys Fisheries (Marathon), and D&D Seafood (Marathon). Catches will arrive at the store six days a week and will rotate seasonally.
In addition, the North Miami location will participate in the chain's Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program, in which local farmers use the store as a drop-off point for their subscribing customers. Teena's Pride will use the new store for its CSA shareholders.
Whole Foods Market North Miami will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
