Whole Foods Market North Miami Opens Today, Many Events Planned
North Miami, please welcome your newest neighbor -- Whole Foods Market. The grocery chain, which features organic foods, prepared goodies, a killer salad bar, and really cheap (but good) wine, opened its newest store today at 9 a.m.

Hundreds of people are expected to show up for the opening day festivities, which kicked off at 8 a.m., and included a free continental breakfast, grand opening sales and specials, tastings, raffles, and live music. Plus, the first 500 customers received a free gift.
If you have to work and can't make it to the grand opening festivities, don't fret because the brand new store is hosting daily events through Sunday, May 5. Here's the rundown:
Wednesday, May 1
Entertainment this morning was provided by the Bad Apples Brass Band. At 9 a.m. Whole Foods Market regional president Juan Nunez and North Miami mayor Andre Pierre spoke, followed by a bread breaking ceremony to officially open the store.
The first 500 shoppers received a reusable bag with goodies following their shopping experience and everyone can take advantage of grand opening sales and specials throughout the store.

Friday, May 3
The market's International Street Food & Brew Fest features live music, appetizers, and beer. From 6 - 8 p.m, sample small plates from around the globe, paired with more than 50 international craft, domestic, and local beers. Tickets are $10 and proceeds benefit the Whole Planet Foundation.
Saturday, May 4
At 11 a.m., sample dishes created from locally grown ingredients from Teena's Pride. WFM North Miami will serve as a CSA drop-off point for the Redland farmer.
From noon to 4 p.m. kids can enjoy activities on the patio, including face painting and a social media photo booth.
At 1 p.m. there will be a Parmigiano-Reggiano wheel cracking where you can sample some fine Italian cheese.
Sunday, May 5
Noon to 4 p.m. Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with Miami Country Day School's solar grill. Students, parents, and supporters of Miami Country Day will be present to grill delicious food on the eco-friendly solar grill. Price is $5 per person and all proceeds will be donated to a micro-bakery in Haiti.
