SoFi seafood lovers officially have a new spot to call their own. Bar Crudo is now open at 40 South Pointe Drive, and it is doling out ocean delicacies like snapper ceviche, beet-cured hamachi and shrimp crostini.

From crab to cocktails, the cozy cafe was the brainchild of owners Andy Travaglia and Ken Ray of Maso Hospitality Group, who say they're focused on farm-to-table produce and sustainable seafood.

"Bar Crudo is bringing our unique concept of modern coastal cuisine to South of Fifth," said co-owner Andy Travaglia. "The focus of the menu is on fresh ingredients from the sea and earth. We are embracing our neighborhood by creating a spot for people to gather with friends for conversation and sharing small plates with craft cocktails or a selection from the well-curated wine list."

The menu includes concoctions like gazpacho with cucumber sorbet and daikon; octopus, ahi amarillo and sweet potato ceviche and crab, jicama and black garlic sushi rolls. There are also crostinis, salads, charcuterie and cheeses and desserts.

- What an original concept.  About every restaurant to open in the past 3 yrs says the same thing. How many buzzwords can this guy fit into one sentence? What a bunch of BS. And that description of the “scallop” and “carpaccio” may be the most obnoxious thing I’ve ever read.

@Emannuel Isn't that the truth Emannuel. I know that I for one am really needing one more place such as this in my life.I  especially need more "craft cocktails".

Somewhere there must exist a website that these people use to cobble together their do it yourself press releases so that they can all sound equally banal and vacuous.

@mjorizondo @Emannuel I thought I was the only one that couldn't stand these new restaurant buzzwords. Also, if I hear the word "curated" one more time outside of the context of an exhibition I think I will vomit.
