Who wants ceviche?
You could use some more pisco in your life. And this weekend, you can get your fix at the Sabor Peru Gastronomic Festival in Doral.

In addition to cooking classes, music shows, and culinary tours, the fair will offer a pisco cocktail competition. Located at the Miami Airport Convention Center, it will also explore the regional cuisines of Peru.

Want to stuff your face with lomo saltado? Then the news is good: Short Order has two pairs of tickets to giveaway.

For a chance to win, leave a comment on the Sabor Peru post on our Facebook page. Describe your favorite Peruvian dish in vivid detail: ceviche, causa, papa a la huancaína, anticuchos, whatever you love to eat.

Two winners will be announced tomorrow, Thursday, November 14, at 2 p.m.

Sabor Peru Gastromic Festival will take place at the Miami Airport Convention Center on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

I love splitting open the fresh bread, smothering the innards with aji, and munching while I choose my next course...ceviche, so citrus-y that my lips pucker a bit, contrasting the white fish with the tart and acidic tomatoes, starchy fresh corn, and refreshing cilantro...yum.

leche de tigre! it is a great hangover cure and awesome aphrodisiac.

Ceviche de corvina is great! The hotter the better. Wash it all down with the leche de tigre afterwards to cure any hangover. Apparently it also has aphrodisiac qualities.

I went to lima last year and brought back a lot of recipes and also bottled sauces. Peruvian cuisine is truly fusion cooking.

Anticuchos for app, arroz con pato for main course, picarones dessert.

My favorite Peruvian dish would include an appetizer of ceviche, with chunks of fresh, raw corvina, marinated in some key lime and mixed with garlic, onions, and chili peppers. For the main course would be some delicious soy-and-vinegar marinated strips of sirloin, stir-fried to perfection, with tomatoes and onions, sitting atop a generous serving of fried potato slices. The side dish would be a heap of arroz chaufa. Dessert would be a delicate serving of suspiro limeño, topped with a dollop of whipped cream and a dusting of cinnamon. Damn I'm hungry.

Favorite dish is Jalea with fresh calamari, plump shrimp and flaky white fish, battered and flash fried to perfection, topped with lemon soaked onion rounds and rocoto on the side ;) yum!!
