Krispy Krunchy Chicken: Delicious Fried Chicken in South Beach

Crispy and crunchy.
Miami has several good destinations for fried chicken, but nothing beats the hidden places. Maybe it's because we can all walk into Publix and get a box of crisp golden breasts, thighs, wings, and drumsticks. So everything else better be tastier and have some sort of allure.

If you're already in the know about Joe's Take Away fried chicken, we have another South Beach chicken secret to share. Located in a much less iconic place, Krispy Krunchy Chicken resides at So Bee Incorporated on Washington Avenue at 14th Street. It's a fried chicken franchise inside a convenience store, and it serves some seriously delicious bird with a Cajun kick.

Look for the giant chicken.
From the outside, a giant chicken statue summons you inside to discover where Krispy Krunchy Chicken is cooped up. They have combos starting at $2.99, which includes two pieces of dark meat and a biscuit, all the way up to family meals with 25 pieces of chicken for $30.89.

What makes Krispy Krunchy so great is that it lives up to its name. The chicken has a crunchy exterior with a hint of heat that coats the tender, juicy meat inside.

Another bonus is that this place delivers. So if you end up at a party hotel in South Beach, you can order some fried chicken to sober up. Delivery begins at noon and runs all the way until 5 a.m. the next morning. Score!

Don't let the rough exterior or strange location deter you. If you want unpretentious fried chicken in South Beach, head to So Bee Incorporated. Just look for the giant chicken.

Yes the chicken is good. Yes, I am thrilled for the owner who has held on to this store through hard times. Yes, you should try it. I have a pet peeve though. I am a dog walker, and parts of the beach, especially Washington from 12-14, and adjacent streets are littered with chicken bones. They are everywhere and are quite dangerous to our dog and cat population. Please, go and enjoy your chicken, and please, dispose of waste properly!

The "Best"..... in Miami is actually in Miami Beach yet  Miami Beach isn't mentioned once but South Beach is mentioned repeatedly.   Typical MNT retardation
