Ginger beer will not get you a buzz, but Crabbie's alcoholic ginger beer will, and fans of a spicier drinking experience should be able to find it in Miami starting this week.

Crabbie's signed with Florida's Gold Coast Beverage Distributors to make its debut across South Florida. A series of events this week in Miami begins Crabbie's entry into this new market.

The first of which will be Britweek, a series of events throughout Miami celebrating the "creative fusion" between the U.S. and the U.K., which runs from March 6-12.

Crabbie's will be poured at several locations during Britweek, including events at The Bond Sales Office, Britto Central Gallery on Lincoln Road on March 7; the Wells Fargo Building on March 7 and 8; Tarpon Bend, Seasons 52, Ortanique, John Martin's Irish Pub and the Actor's Playhouse at Miracle Theater on March 9. Crabbie's will be poured at several other events in Miami during BritWeek.

Crabbie's will also make an appearance at Sprung! Spring Beer Festival in Coconut Grove on Saturday, March 8.

Ginger beer is almost always found as a non-alcoholic soft drink, but there are some exceptions like Crabbie's, which tops out at 4.8 percent alcohol-by-volume.

The ginger in Crabbie's is cold steeped for up to six weeks and then combined with four secret ingredients. The newest Crabbie's product is Spiced Orange which offers the same refreshing taste as the original but with a lighter ginger profile and an orange flavor. Crabbie's Alcoholic Ginger Beer is always served chilled over ice with a slice of citrus. It can also be blended into a variety of ginger beer cocktails, such as a Dark and Crabbie and the Moscow Mule.

Crabbie's is available for purchase in two formats: a four-pack of 11 ounce bottles and a larger 16.9 ounce bottle.

"We can't wait to share Crabbie's, over ice with a slice, with people from Fort Lauderdale to Miami to the Keys," says Phil Clarke, general manager of St. Killian, the exclusive US importer of Crabbie's.
