There are exciting innovations happening all over Miami these days, from outstanding art to ethical eats. And this weekend's first installment of FEAST (Funding Emerging Art with Sustainable Tactics) is putting two genres together for an evening of cruelty-free cuisine and local art aid.

For $40 you can dig into a mouthwatering vegan feast served up at Wynwood's Light Box by noted Meals That Heal chef Loren Pulitzer, plus cast a vote for Miami's next artrepreneur.

"I'm going to be creating an all vegan, gluten-free dinner. The salad is all locally sourced from Little River Farm, and Whole Foods Market has generously sponsored the rest of the meal and for the remainder of the project," says Pulitzer.

In addition to edibles, dinner attendees will get to cast a vote for one of five art projects seeking funding. The contestants include Cat Del Buono & Vivian Marthell/ ReFemme -- Social Interruptions; Liz Ferrer/ Southernmost Situations -- Redacted Love; Heroes Unite/ Mobile Micro Theater; Amanda Season Keeley/ Exile Books and Juan Carlos Zaldivar/ Shifting Nature - Audio Walks.

The evening's dinner menu features locally sourced foodstuffs as much as possible, says Pulitzer. She calls the bounty of Muriel Olivares' Little River Farm "art in itself".

"The salad is going to be a burgundy bean, kohlrabi, arugula, radish salad with light olive oil and umeboshi plum vinaigrette," Pulitzer says.

"There'll be veggie stacks with cashew cheese, portobello mushrooms, thinly sliced sweet potato, coconut crema and kale." Plus a cauliflower dish on the side and a simple quinoa, she says.

And for dessert, a chocolate avocado mousse and Pulitzer's Simply Sharon's cookies.

The minimum donation is $40 per person and you can purchase tickets via brownpapertickets.com. The event runs from 6 to 9 p.m. on Sunday at Light Box, 404 NW 26th St., Miami.
