Ten Best Brickell Restaurants

Things are about to change in Brickell. Whether it will be for the better remains a mystery. At this moment, several stone-gray, nearly finished highrises loom on the skyline. Work is underway on Brickell City Centre, a massive, Hong Kong-financed gigaplex of shops, restaurants, offices, and hotels. Developers have partnered with the Whitman family, which built and owns Bal Harbour Shops, offering a clue as to the type of restaurants that might be on deck.

For now, however, here are the best restaurants Brickell has to offer.

10. Tobacco Road
Though its days may be numbered, the 100-year-old watering hole is as reliable for good wings and ribs as it is for cheap, stiff drinks. Tobacco Road's burgers are among the best in the city and nearly impossible to resist after a few rounds.

9. OTC
OTC, short for Over the Counter, fulfilled one of Brickell's howling needs when it opened in 2012: a local place with reliably good food, a fun atmosphere, and good drinks. It's become the neighborhood's best craft beer bar. In 2013, OTC brought in Jacob Anaya, formerly of Azul, who has since revamped the menu into a gastropub-meets-fine-dining mashup.

WHAT??? Tobacco Road one of the best? C'mon!!! Give me a break Zachary Fagenson. What about Perfecto? And Havana 1957?, Crazy About you? Graziano?
These are only 4 of several places a million times better AS RESTAURANTS than Tobacco Road, Tinta y Cafe (A coffee shop, sir!) and La Moon (which has good stuff but compared to those that you didn't care to visit is NOTHING). Your article is really terrible.

@mikkimauss  Also, Mr. Psevoznik I did a bit of research on you following your kind comments on Seasalt and Pepper review. You own a marketing company that represents restaurants. Your commenting is driven by which ones you do work for and which ones you don't. You had some unkind comments about a review of Mixtura I did back in 2012. Shockingly you have worked with Mixtura in the past.

I disclose when I eat a free meal. You should disclose when you're shilling for a paycheck.

Tinta y Cafe is a nice coffee place. It's not a restaurant. This article is completely out of context.

Lippi is a great choice. One of the few places in this ridiculous list that deserves be here. Good for Lippi!

@ZachF2 Who? Mr. Psev...??? I work for a TV station and I pay for all my meals, Zach (Sometimes with the corporate card, I must admit). I agree with you on Xixon and Fiorito, I disagree with your opinion about Las vacas gordas, it's not what it used to be 15 years ago. Cheers! Micky

@mikkimauss  Perfecto, Havana and Graziano are all mediocre in their categories. For good tapas go to Xixon or Tapas de Las Rosas. For Cuban El Exquisito or El Palacio. For Argentine Las Vacas Gordas, Fiorito or Campo Argentino.

I enjoy Crazy About You, but only because I can get red wine lips for less than $30 :)
