The Ménage à Trois Raw Vegan Doughnuts from Jugofresh Will Leave You Stuffed

The threesome.
There's a certain person (El Jefe) who likes to visit local doughnut shops whenever he travels to different cities. Unfortunately, in Miami you have to leave the city and head to Mojo in Pembroke Pines for that special round sweetness with a hole in the middle.

It's unclear why this Magic City is lacking a special doughnut, but surely this healthful population is partially responsible. Perhaps that is why the juice masters at Jugofresh brought us raw, vegan donuts in a three-pack to satisfy our pie doughnut holes.

Juice and doughnuts.
We headed to the South Pointe location where all the food is produced on display in an all-glass commissary. It was a sun-soaked day and we set out to munch on raw doughnuts and sip on juice. Sounds like a delightful little snack, but the total came to over $18 (!!!) with tax.

However, the Menage A Trois doughnuts ($8.50) definitely felt like a lot of food once we bit in. We eased ourselves into this trio of holes with the doughnut hole that came topped with a maple glaze and coconut jerky.

The raw doughnut dough made with oat flour, Brazil nuts, coconut flour, coconut oil, coconut sugar, agave, cinnamon, and vanilla tasted like oatmeal cookie dough with a lot more density. That little hole was enough.

Glazed and gogi topped.
The two larger doughnuts had the same dough only different glazes and "sprinkles." One was coated with a orange ginger glaze and bee pollen. The other had a medicinal chocolate icing with spirulina crunchies and goji berry powder.

These are not some airy Krispy Kremes where you can pop a half-dozen before even noticing: These dense and healthful doughnuts require a lot of sharing and pacing out.

It takes a special kind of person to take on the ménage à trois -- let the juice be with you, to help you wash it all down.
