50 Eggs is holding a career fair at Khong River House.
If you're an "in the biz" person in need of a career change, consider working at 50 Eggs.

The company, named one of the "50 Coolest New Businesses in America" by Business Insider, is certainly in "growth mode" with the recent opening of Khong River House, the "soon-to-come" Swine Southern Table & Bar in Coral Gables, and a mystery project on Alton Road in the works.

The Fresh Market in Palmetto Bay is holding a career fair.
The Fresh Market is putting the finishing touches on its new Palmetto Bay location. The free-standing store will be located on U.S. 1 on an out parcel of the Falls shopping center, which itself is in the process of a remodel that includes several new restaurants.

The brand-new market is scheduled to open in late August 2012. A recent visit to the store showed the meat and seafood departments already in place, with the smell of fresh paint and plaster in the air.

The store will provide not only an additional shopping option for the area, but also jobs for the community. The Fresh Market plans to hire 80 to 90 employees for the new location in a one-day hiring blitz.

Krispy Kreme to Open in Florida City: Job Fair Today and Tomorrow

krispy-kreme.jpg
OMG, they do look kinda awesome, don't they?
Krispy Kreme is more than a doughnut; it's an obsession to some people. Don't believe us? Bring a dozen Krispy Kremes to your office and watch grown men and women turn into sugar junkies as they push each other out of the way in an attempt to nab a warm glazed.

Sure, you can get Krispy Kreme at your local gas station or drugstore, but there's something about the little Krispy Kreme stores. Maybe it's the aroma of freshly baked sugary goodness; maybe it's the neon sign that invites you to get 'em while they're hot. Maybe it's the fact that there are only four of these freestanding shops in South Florida.

Sure, Florida unemployment is at an all time high, but don't give up all hope, there are jobs in Miami's food service industry.

The only other thing we're really qualified to do in life besides what you're reading now is wash dishes, which is more lucrative, but less fun, so nothing wrong with getting your hands dirty for the sake of the almighty dollar.

Here's our Florida unemployment emergency relief effort now hiring guide. Good luck.

New Burger King Whopper Bar South Beach Holding Casting Auditions

whopper-bar.jpg
via Whopper Bar now hiring ad on Craigslist
Hahahaha. Doesn't that sign look like it says "Shave it your way?"
What is Whopper Bar? A high-falutin' fast food joint with an upscale interior, 22 topping choices for a Whopper-based menu, the fatter-patty casual dining upgrade burger, Whopperistas handling and building your order, a "visible toppings theater," and a Burger King Studio merchandise kiosk. So far the only Whopper Bar in the U.S. is in Orlando, but guess who's coming to South Beach? That's right, Whopper Bar.

In a move that mirrors that of its South Beach nightlife neighbors the Burger King Whopper Bar South Beach's hiring process is kicked off with casting auditions. Whopper Bar has a now- hiring ad on Craigslist saying that they're "looking for upbeat, fun and dynamic individuals to fit this new concept and location."

Your next chance to audition is November 11 at Courtyard by Marriott, 1530 Washington Avenue, Miami Beach, and you must be at least 18 years old.

Yard House in Village of Merrick Park Employs 234, Single-Handedly Puts Gables to Work

Yard House
Stimulus yardage
"When comparing Yard House with all of the more than 7,500 entities with active business licenses in Coral Gables, Yard House has the 14th largest employee count," says Jessica Wotherspoon, business development specialist for the City of Coral Gables. "When comparing Yard House within the restaurant category alone, it ranks as the largest."

What in the world are all these people doing?  Manager Eric Orge, who spent three months of intensive training at the Irvine, CA branch of this sportspub chain to learn how to handle the madness breaks it down for us in restaurant-speak.

On a typical Friday dinner service there's 25 servers, 8 bartenders, 4 bar backs (bussers behind the bar,) 6 bussers, 6 "expos" (food runners,) 30 cooks (that's for 6 cooking stations,) 5 dishwashers, 4 prep cooks (who come in to prep in the afternoon,) 8 hostesses and 5 managers on the floor...  Do the math and that's give or take 100 staff per 500 guests on a busy night, turning tables 5-6 times if there's no game on.

For those of you eager to jump into the fray, Orge says that while he can't comment on specific job openings, they are always accepting applications.  Or you could do the economically responsible thing, and let them service you.
