50 Eggs, Chef Bee Twitter War: "Classic Bully Tactics," "Leave Him Bee"

50 Eggs
The Chef Bee 50 Eggs lawsuit ignites a Twitter war.
Last week, a flame was ignited in the Miami restaurant world when 50 Eggs Restaurant Company LLC sued former Khong River House executive chef Piyarat Potha Arreeratn, better known as Chef Bee.

The lawsuit, filed in Miami-Dade Circuit Court on August 27, alleges Chef Bee violated several agreements including a non-compete, and that Bee "did not know how to run a professional kitchen". Bee responded by saying 50 Eggs CEO John Kunkel "broke my trust" and that he cooked for 14 hours a day during his tenure at Khong.

Now, chefs are taking to Twitter to respond to the lawsuit.

Andrew Zimmern is a Twitter machine.
Can't make it to this year's South Beach Wine & Food Festival? We hear ya. Tickets are kind of expensive.

Fret not. Luckily, Twitter allows complete strangers to pry into the lives of those who live publicly, like Cooking Channel and Food Network idols, for instance.

This year, experience SoBe Fest through these guys and their high-profile tweets. The only other thing that would make the vicarious experience more authentic is if you have a glass of wine in hand at all times. But that would be too hard to handle.

Tweeting Toasters? The Next Step In Kitchen Tech for 2012

Hans Scharler
There's no question that if left unattended, our kitchen appliances can develop minds of their own, but tweeting toasters? What the hell?

This is a prediction from a report released last month by Massachusetts-based marketing research firm International Data Corporation.

IDC predicts that 2012 will see the arrival of microblogging by things, allowing people to follow the status of a device.

"We predict that in the next 18 months, we will see acceleration in the use of microblogging technology...for people to follow the 'state' of things that are relevant to them," says Frank Genz, author of the report. "This could include a Twitter-like feed to 'follow' the status of a connected appliance in your house to see if it's operating correctly or if it needs service."
